Summer is my favorite season! I love hanging out at the pool and I love going to the beach. I could lounge 24/7, but work prohibits that. But, every weekend I'm chillaxin' poolside or ocean side!
I took three sets of pictures; outdoors in the sun, outdoors in the shade and indoors. I'm starting with the outdoor pictures taken in the sun and I hope you can get past the shadows, background and cut out pattern on the walls. It may be a little distracting, but I think it's interesting. I'll end with the indoor shots, with white paper behind the cut-outs, so you can see what's actually in the room. I should probably start with those pictures first, but I don't like them. Does anyone else take 50 pictures only to post a few?

This one was taken in the shade. |
These were taken indoors with no distractions.
The lounger, ceiling fan and zebra print pillow are by me. The floor is a cut up beach mat. The floating shelf is a box. The mirror is a picture frame. I used cheesecloth for the sheers. Accessories are items from HBS Miniatures, Michael's, doll accessories and local shop finds.
I hope you're in a summer frame of mind! As always, I had fun with it!
Until next time, Beany.

ReplyDeleteThanx Carmen, it was fun to work on!
Deleteyummo...can I come lie there? Awesome set up Beanie...I like the sun shadows playing in the room too.
ReplyDeleteHi Jazzi, glad you liked it. It was so bright when I took the pictures that I couldn't see anything on the camera screen, but they turned out better than I thought.
DeleteLove what you have done with the space. Inspirational and looks like an ideal home for relaxing after a tiring day at work.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment! It would be nice to have a real space like this.
DeleteYup, normally 15-25 pictures taken to get one decent enough to make it onto the blog. This scene so makes me think of holidays abroad. The lantern is an inspired idea. Love the light coming through the patterns.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pepper! You know, since I'm not a photographer, I may not even be posting the decent ones!
DeleteEnhorabuena por esa fantastica escena, me encanta cada uno de los detalles.

Thank you so much! I appreciate that you like the details, because that's what I focus on when I'm checking out other blogs.
DeleteLove this! MY favorite things are the beach and anything turquoise! Beautiful bed and pillows. Love the drapes too. I'm movin' in this weekend! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathi! I too love the beach and turquoise, although my absolute favorite color is orange. I plan to do an orange and turquoise room real soon.
DeleteAbsolutely wonderful. The way you can play with light to create mood in your mini settings... lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gosia! I really do like the shadows that the sun created. Seems a little more real!
ReplyDeleteWow... love this scene you’re really creative... I must say that I like the outdoor pictures best. Not just because of the sun shining trough but also because you can see the poolside if you look closely those two things combined with your work makes it look like an actual 1:1 room!! It immediately gives you the feel of summer.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Mandy! I'm glad you liked it and I really had fun doing it.
ReplyDeleteI totally want to chillax in that cabana. Yes, I take about 50 photos and only use a handful to post, but then I have a hard time deleting the ones not used so WAY too many mini photos sucking up space on my laptop. I digress, I love the first photos with natural light and poolside background, so inviting I want to hang out here all day. Thanks for showing the whole lantern, it's beautiful for minis and real poolside decor as well. :D
ReplyDeleteGlad you like! The inspiration came from a trip to Las Vegas, where we rented a cabana for the first time, and we really liked the protection from 115 degree sun and hung out in it all day!
