Martha's in the House!

I've been seeing the Martha Stewart craft line for a while now, but I had never stopped to investigate it.  While I was shopping for paper in an independent craft store, I asked about the Martha Stewart paper punches and the owner graciously gave me a demo and let me try it. It was very easy to use and this particular punch can be used on a full sheet of paper instead of just creating borders. I was sold and I bought two full sheet punches and one border punch.  I have a tendency to overdo everything. I see some great potential with these punches in creating wallpaper, furniture, accessories, wall art, etc.  So, you know what that means?  Yep, you'll be seeing them at work again!

The stuff:  The flooring is a place mat.  Wall panels were made with the Martha Stewart paper punch by punching a row of white paper and backing it with black paper.  The table base is a painted candle holder (the original color was orange, so why in the world would I paint it chrome when the chairs are orange AND it's my favorite color?  Well, I wanted it to match the chair legs, but it would have had more punch if I'd just left it alone, oh well!)  The acrylic shelves are storage containers.  The zebra print vase is covered with Sally Hansen's Salon Effects. The chairs are painted CB2 chairs and I used the greenhouse from IKEA. The accessories are dollhouse, craft store & thrift store finds along with some homemade stuff.

I'd like to welcome a few new followers!  I appreciate you being here and I hope you enjoy what you see.

Enjoy the Labor Day Holiday (US followers)!.........Beany

  3. This room is beautiful! The lattice work from the MS punch really adds to the garden style. The Sally Hansen's Salon Effects...your greatest innovation for the week : ) Two tone effect on the CB2 chairs...who'd of thunk it; what a way to make them your own! Green...great counterpoint to your favorite color--orange and the silver table base keeps it all grounded (IMHO). I'm always looking forward to your posts. Keep 'em coming. I've got that awesome mirror (Michael's $1 bin?!) now you've inspired me to put it to good use ; )

    1. Thank you! I'm really into the lattice work: fabrics, papers, vases, wall hangings, you name it! Yep, good ole Michael's $1 bin. I have all colors. That's what I mean by overdoing everything!

  5. This is sooooo cool! Orange is my favorite color too, but I think the table base in the chrome makes the chairs stand out. Your lamp is great too. I like the shade!

    1. Thank you very much, and I had figured out that you were another orange lover!! I bought a 3-pack of Kleenex (each pack a different color and design), thinking the tissues were printed, but to my disapointment it was only the packaging, so I photocopied it and used it as a shade.

  10. Ha Ha! I'll have to figure out the email button. I've been workin' on a room (seems like forever), but I'm taking a class this semester and the homework is sucking up ALL my play time! Very cool of you to comment, thanx! Can't guarantee that it will be any of the above (oh, the pressure) but I'm almost finished.

  13. Thank you so much! I really have to force myself not to do everything in orange. This mini stuff lets me play with other colors.
